Ck-Mini Opossum Stuffed Animal 8"

Cuddlekins Mini Opossum Stuffed Animal – 8" | Wild Republic

A little quirky, a little cuddly, and absolutely adorable! Meet the Mini Opossum from Wild Republic's Cuddlekins collection, an irresistibly charming 8-inch plush inspired by one of North America's most misunderstood wild animals.

With its distinctive pointed face, curious expression, and soft, huggable body, this little opossum captures the personality of a creature that's far more fascinating than its reputation might suggest.

The Virginia opossum (Didelphis virginiana) is North America's only native marsupial found north of Mexico. Like kangaroos and koalas, female opossums carry their developing young in a pouch! These remarkable nocturnal animals are natural scavengers, feeding on insects, fallen fruit, and other food sources while helping recycle nutrients in their ecosystems.

And that famous expression, "playing possum"? It's based on a real defensive behavior! When extremely frightened, an opossum may involuntarily enter a temporary, death-like state to discourage predators.

Why We Love It at Millstream

At Millstream, we believe every wild creature deserves a little appreciation, especially the wonderfully unusual ones! We selected this Mini Opossum because it celebrates an often-overlooked animal that plays an important role in our natural environment.

While opossums weren't historically native to Washington, Virginia opossums have become established in parts of the Pacific Northwest, particularly west of the Cascades. They can now be found in wooded neighborhoods, parks, and other habitats around the Puget Sound region.

We love introducing visitors to animals they might encounter in their own backyards, not just the famous or majestic creatures of the wilderness. This lovable little opossum is a fun reminder that nature is full of surprises, and even the most unconventional animals have an important story to tell.

Whether you're exploring Bainbridge Island, visiting Port Townsend, or shopping for someone who loves quirky wildlife, this cuddly companion is sure to bring a smile.
